The Austrian Federal Railways are building a new terminal for combined transport at the central freight terminal in Vienna’s south. The contract for construction site supervision for several new building complexes was awarded to Ingenos.Gobiet.
Ingenos.Gobiet supervises the construction works for the facility building which includes office spaces, a cloak room and a common room for the employees. The so-called “BGN-Building“ has a core made from reinforced concrete but is a wooden construction from the ground floor up.
The second construction houses an office wing for clerical staff, a workshop, a garage and gas station as well as sanitary rooms. The office wing consists of a ground floor as well as a first floor, the rest of the building is a one-floor-construction. Parts of the building have a basement.
Both buildings use geothermal energy for heating and cooling.
Furthermore, a new building for the shunting service as well as several switching stations will be built on the premises. Both as reinforced concrete constructions, with the above-ground elements of the shunting service being built from sustainable wood.
